Ever since I was young, I've been interested in handicrafts such as embroidery, sewing, quilting, knitting, crocheting and weaving.

I went to fashion school (FIDM in LA) and I worked in the industry for a while doing design work at a computer and desk. Where I really wanted to be was in the pattern making room, or the sewing floor. I wanted to work with my hands!

Life took me on a detour into software project management shortly after but then I found on myself on the super highway of love when I met my husband, Hank. As we settled into married life, he asked me, "what do you want to do? I will support you."

In a moment of great vulnerability, I told him honestly, "I want to make with my hands and have others see value in it." I had always felt it was so ridiculous to want that but he drew it out of me.

There I was, opening an Etsy shop in early 2020 with my handful of adorable cross-stitch embroidery pins. Then the world changed.

I shifted into small batch production sewing mode right away. I had the skills, I had the knowledge. I put myself to work and was determined to create a small business that reflected my core beliefs of good design, eco-conscious making and the Made in the USA spirit.
